Frequently Asked Questions

What if I need to cancel my hire reservation?

Cancellation of a reserved Hire must be made at a minimum of 24 Hours prior to delivery or collection in order to obtain a refund of any payments made via the web site or at our office. Cancellations can be done by phone or email.
Failure to advise Britannia Access of a cancelled hire within the time period will result in non refund of the Hire charges.

Can I extend my hire period?

If you need to extend your hire period then we would ask if you could phone our office at least 24 hours ahead of the original return due date. Our Hire charges are based on daily rates so the necessary additional payment can be made over the phone.

What about non return of equipment on the due date?

If any equipment is not made available for collection or not returned to Britannia on the due date then equipment will be deemed to be back on hire at the appropriate daily rate. The final additional charge will be requested on return of the equipment to our depot. in addition to additional daily charges Additional transport charges will be made if our vehicle has been dispatched to collect items of equipment on a due date that is not available for collection on the appropriate date.

Is there a delivery charge?

We do make a small delivery charge for all Single item Hire - this will be based on distance from our Hire Dept in Burnham.

Delivery & Pick Up is available only for: SL0, SL1, SL2, SL3, SL4, SL5, SL6, SL7, SL8, SL9

Charges for Deliveries outside of these post codes will need to be agreed at the point of order.

What do I need to bring as identification?

When Hiring from Britannia Access Hire for the first and before the release of any equipment we have to verify your identification and address.

We would ask that you come to our office/depot at 3c Lincoln Hatch Lane, Burnham, Buckinghamshire SL1 7JN with

1. Your current Drivers License
or
2. Your passport
and
3. A utility Bill in the hirer's name showing your current address

What is the damage on return procedure?

Any damage or loss to a hired unit or component part of a unit should be advised to Britannia Access Hire as soon as it is identified by the Hirer.

Any Damage or loss identified by Britannia on return of a hired unit will be communicated to the hirer immediately upon discovery.

All items will be inspected for completeness and damage on collection or return

If there is repairable damage noted at the time of collection or return to any product then a suitable deduction will be agreed with the hirer up to a maximum of the total deposit paid at the time of the Hire. Any part cost will be deducted from the deposit payment prior to any agreed refund.

In cases where any damage is beyond repair or in cases of total loss then deposits will not be refunded. In additional the replacement cost of the unit or component part of the unit will be charged for.

Can I order multple items in one transaction?

Orders for multiple products can be accepted via the Web site but we can only accept a single delivery and/or collection address If you require different items to different addresses, please either complete separate orders on the web site or call us and we can take your order over the telephone.
